Ye Zhu

Ye Zhu's contribution unfolded across both days of Sensory Cultivation. On Saturday afternoon, Zhu installed gold leafing beneath the temple gate—a material intervention that transformed the architectural threshold with luminescence, marking the space of arrival and passage with the alchemy of displacement and belonging. On Sunday morning, Zhu offered a reading and talk that drew on their layered practice of migration, memory, and material transformation, creating a reflective counterpoint to the previous day's installation. Together, the two gestures traced an arc from the sensorial to the discursive, inviting collective reflection on how place holds history.
