Hosted at Magick City, a commissary kitchen and collaborative space for culinary innovation, the event sought to translate the principles of ONTOPO’s site-specific retreats into an urban setting. The event’s programming emphasized the intersection of performance, sound, and community.
Choreographer Juri Onuki presented a movement-based work in dialogue with an original sound composition by Giza. The performance highlighted themes of embodied presence and interaction, utilizing both movement and live sound to create an environment that blurred the boundary between performer and audience. Subsequent sound interventions included a cosmic DJ set by Alexis Georgopoulos, who explored the potential of rhythmic structures and atmospheric layering to shape collective experience. Closing the evening, Abby Echiverri performed an experimental DJ set that interrogated the intersection of analog and digital forms, offering a sonic narrative grounded in improvisation and technological hybridity.
The event also marked the 10th anniversary of Resurrection by Common Space, a project rooted in supporting artistic collaboration. By directing bar proceeds toward the performing artists, the event reinforced its commitment to sustaining creative labor and exploring alternative economic models within the arts.
