Lu Gao

Lu Gao is a Chinese artist based in New York whose photographic installations explore stillness, site, and the reclamation of contemplative attention in a distracted world. Her work integrates photography, architecture, and Zen meditation to examine perception and the ecological dimensions of human presence. Trained in architecture at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and later receiving her MFA in Photography from Parsons, Gao spent two years in residence at a Forest Zen monastery in Hunan, China—an experience that deeply informs her practice.
