Dr. Patricia Kaishian

Dr. Patricia Kaishian is a mycologist, writer, and curator whose work spans fungal taxonomy, queer ecology, and the philosophy of science. Currently the Curator of Mycology at the New York State Museum and a faculty member at Bard Prison Initiative, she is known for her groundbreaking research on Laboulbeniales fungi and her essay The Science Underground: Mycology as a Queer Discipline. Her upcoming book Forest Euphoria (Spiegel & Grau) explores the radical entanglements of fungi, identity, and symbiosis.
